It's time to weld! Most welder here in the BVI charge by the hour, so we are going to do as much prep work on our own to trim down the number of hours we are paying for labor.
We had lots of scrap metal that had been cut out of our boat when the interior was removed. We've hung onto all those bits and pieces and today it finally paid off. I used the circular saw to rip one and two inch bars of quarter-inch aluminum to make a lip around the stern hatch cut out.
Above is a good shot of the stern after it was ground for welding.
