Yesterday we did a lot of welding and a lot of cutting. At the end of the day came the ultimate test-- does the hatch we cut out fit back in the hole we made? NO! It does not. It's close, but not close enough.
Today we are working to fit the hatch to the boat, it involves some grinding and some hammering, but we're making progress.
