Finding Space for the Stern Floor

The more we build the interior, the harder it is to swing full sheets of plywood onto the saw horses.  I knew it was time to knock out the last few projects that will require full sheets of plywood before we get much further.  In order to fit the stern floor and one more outboard skin on the horses and then into place I had to rearrange a few things on the boat...

I took everything that could be wet to the bow.

Then, I stacked all the extra mahogany and plywood on the side of the boat.

Lastly, I put all the tools in the pilot house and moved the full sheets of plywood and insulation away from the outboard wall so that I could access behind them.

My big proud smile was because for some reason I only had to cut once for a perfect fit on the floor!!  Maybe my measuring skills have improved?

Once the floor and exterior skins were cut I laid them out on the stern for their coat of epoxy.  As the epoxy went off I headed back inside to begin insulating the stern of the boat.  We are so close to finishing all insulation projects and I'm pretty excited about that!
